I chose my book to tour California...I should go along with it!

SO now we are at day 15 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Day's Challenge.

Half way through and I'm thinking oil paintings are back in the game!

 This feather was inspired by my neice Emma, age 12 

who drew a beautiful full peacock without looking at a photo.  

Not easy to do!

I think I know what she will be getting for her next birthday;)

This is Day 11 of the 30 Painting in 30 Day's Challenge

I got a little behind again...this one is going into the 

Art house Co-op Sketchbook Project 2014

Which is due in 2 more day's!  almost done....the 2 below will also go into the sketchbook.

About the painting.  In the Fall, one of my silly things I like to do is go stand under a tree who's leaves are in full color.  When the sunlight shines through, it seems to fill you up with the energy of all that color.  I know silly...but try it sometime you'll see what I mean!

This is another entry for the Sketchbook Project, which by the way
I chose mine to tour 3 cities in California. Yes the book gets to travel!
 I will keep you posted when and where it is.
At the end of the tour it will be permanently on display at the Brooklyn Museum of Art
in the Sketchbook Library.

This sock monkey looks like he is cheating at  playing peek a boo,
 but he is from a group of three I did earlier this year in oil which sold.
Who doesn't love a Sock Monkey?

approaching very soon!

Day 7 - "The Practice Grape"

I should call this Abbey's Grape.  Why? Because while taking a workshop from Painter Abbey Ryan,

she demonstrated how to get the luminosity of a grape.  SO,  the other day I bought some grapes,

mixed  the same colors she used while remembering her tips .... and within 20 minutes or so -  Voila! 

 I thought,  WOW!  it worked!  

THEN today,  Day 7 of this 30 Paintings in 30 day's challenge,  I attempted another painting of the grape only on a hard canvas with the intention of making a more detailed version.

Must have worked on it for at least 3 hours and guess what? 

 I couldn't stop painting, it started getting overworked, muddy and of course the light kept changing.  Grrrr!  

 In the end I wiped the canvas completely clean.... and so here you go,  my first practice grape.

Day 6 of the 30 Paintings in 30 day's Challenge by Leslie Saeta.

When I was a kid (still am sometimes)  I used to LOVE watching

the claymation show of Gumby and Pokey.  

I found Pokey in a box tucked away in the closet, but no sign 

of his friend...so sad, I might have to find him on ebay or something.
